Specail  Ministry

Counseling – Counseling is available for the members of our church family.  Counseling provides biblical instruction for daily living. Occasionally counseling is available to members of other churches provided they received special permission from their pastor. We perform counseling on a daily basis.

 

Weddings – Weddings are performed provided the couple has received pre-marital counseling. Pre-marital counseling provides biblical instruction for Christian marriages. We have performed one wedding over the past year.

Baptisms – Baptisms are available for new converts.  Children are baptized if they have met the minimum requirements of understanding the purpose of baptism. We have not performed any baptisms over the past year.

 

Funeral Services – Funeral services are available to deceased members of our church family or a close relative of a member. We have not performed any funerals over the past year.

Children & Youth Ministry

Children’s Church- Bible lessons and principles are taught by using a variety of teaching/learning methods for boys and girls.  The activities include games, music, quizzes, skits, video, artwork, and other age-appropriate instructional techniques.  Children’s Church is held weekly and all children are welcome to attend.  Our ministry leader supervises this activity.  We have over 10 children attend our Children’s Church each week.  This activity requires approximately 5% of our resources.

Bible Study - We hold a bible study each week.  The class opens with prayer.  During the class, there is a review of previous lessons, a quiz, and a current lesson.  Questions and answers and class participation continue throughout the class.  The class ends with a closing prayer.

 

This class targets individuals of all age groups.  The classes are held at the church and the attendance has been from 5 to 15 people. The program requires less than 5% of our efforts and resources. The Pastor and Leaders within the church manage this program.

Outreach Ministry

Street Witnessing – Once per week, a group of volunteers of the church goes throughout nearby neighborhoods with music and flyers to evangelize new believers. We also visit the sick in hospitals.  This activity targets people of all ages.  The Pastor and Leaders within the church manage this program. This program requires less than 5% of our efforts and resources.

 Hospital and Nursing Home Visitations – Once per week a team of volunteers visit local hospitals and nursing homes to minister to the sick and shut-in.  We will pray for individuals who request prayer and minister to those who need encouragement.  We hope to help many people through this program.  The program will require 5% of our efforts and resources.  A minister will coordinate this activity.

Prison Ministry Outreach – Once per month, we will visit the prison facilities to minister to those that are incarcerated.  We will have prayer, praise and worship and preaching.  The meetings will be open to anyone who wants to attend.  A ministry leader leads the meetings.  This activity will require approximately 5% of our time and resources.

Senior Ministry

Retreats and Conferences – From time to time we will have retreats and conferences for specific groups within our church. (i.e. Men, Adults, Seniors, etc.).    The retreats are usually two to three days.  They include workshops and sermons that provide specific principles for Christian living targeted toward each group.  The meetings include guest speakers.  Our attendance is usually 100 people.  This activity is managed by the Senior Pastor and volunteers.  This activity requires 5% of our time and resources.

Group Meetings and Activities – Once per month various groups within our church (i.e. Men, Adults, Seniors, etc.) will come together for a time of bible study, fellowship, and group activities.  Bible study lessons and/or sermons will provide specific principles for Christian living targeted toward each group.  Occasionally, we may have a guest speaker at some of the meetings.  We hope to have as many as 100 people attend each of our meetings and activities. This activity requires 5% of our time and resources and is led by a ministry leader.

Health and Nutrition Program- The health and nutrition program will address physical health and nutrition education for parents and children. This program will provide awareness designed to promote and encourage a healthy lifestyle.  This program will include nutrition, meal planning, cooking, and fitness classes.

Life Skill Workshops & Counselling  

 Life Skills Workshops and Counseling – Once per quarter we will conduct Life Skills workshops.  These workshops will be open to the general public.  Occasionally, we may charge a small fee to cover our overhead costs (handouts and guest speaker honorarium).  Our life skills workshops and counseling programs include the following:

 

Counseling - Individuals will receive one-on-one and group counseling to identify and address various issues in their lives.  Group counseling sessions will focus on specific life management issues such as alcohol and drug dependency, crisis management, and family management and marriage relationships. Our group-counseling sessions participants in learning skills that will aid them in changing addictive behaviors.  

 

Life Skills Training – Individuals will be taught various skills that help them to live a more productive lifestyle.  Sessions will include teachings on anger management, conflict resolution, decision-making, self-esteem, assertiveness training, etc.

 

Computer Training – We will provide computer training to help the youth and adults develop computer skills and prepare them for the workplace.

Life Skill Workshops & Education 

 Educational Program- Our educational program provides basic skills training such as reading, math, language, etc. to assist individuals in obtaining their General Education Diploma (GED).  We will also provide them with resources to further their education.

 

Financial Planning and Budgeting - This program will assist individuals with successful financial planning.  Individuals will develop short-term and long-term financial goals.  They will establish checking and saving account, and learn to balance their accounts.  They will keep accurate financial records and develop budget plans to fit their needs.  Strategies will be given to help manage and save money.  We will not offer any credit management, debt consolidation or related services.

 

Employment Counseling and Job Readiness – We will provide workshops to train individuals on basic job skills, interviewing, resume writing, and job search. We will teach individuals to communicate effectively and other etiquette skills so that they will be able to present themselves in a professional and respectful manner in the workplace and in society as a whole.

 

Our Life Skills workshops are managed by our Senior Pastor and volunteers.  This activity requires 5% of our time and resources
